Can Argyria (Blue Dots from Silver Jewelry) Be Removed with the Picoway Laser ? Yes!

Yes, you can remove your argyria

Are you sick and tired of hiding your argyria dot with bigger and bigger jewelry? Tired of covering up with make up? Do you notice people looking at your nose and not listening or looking into your eyes? If you answered yes to any of these questions take a deep breath. Unthink Inc. and the PicoWay laser can remove your argyria.

That blue grey circle around your nose piercing is actually silver, that has become part of your skin. You can’t wash it off, it won’t fade away and until recently I bet you were told you’d have to live with that dark spot forever. They were wrong, you can have a quick treatment just a few times and remove your acute localized argyria.

What is argyria?

Acute argyria is a diffuse deposit of silver from jewelry that can affect different parts of your body like your ears, belly button, nipples but most noticeably your nose piercing. As the silver deteriorates by coming in contact with gasses in the air, that tarnish is what stains your skin. The broken down silver has a much higher affinity or attraction to move into your epidermis where it is visible just under the stratus corneum or top layer of your skin. The blue grey dot is not the extent of the silver deposit in your skin. Often with use of digital flash photography the reflection from the silver can be seen extending outwards from the dot you can see with the naked eye. The metal particles are too large for your immune system to remove from your nose. The PicoWay laser can pulverize the silver into much smaller particles and with just a few treatments your body can remove the silver out of your body using natural processes.

What can I do to prevent or get rid of argyria?

Sterling silver is only 92.5% silver. It is a soft metal that easily scratches and tarnishes. The other additives to sterling silver are to make it harder and more durable. Nickel is added but is not biocompatible which means it prevents healing, opening the door right into your skin. Costume jewelry is cheaper because its mass produced in a factory. This type may increase your incidence of skin staining. Gold jewelry does not pose the same potential for argyria. Piercings are frequently left in place but removing your piercing and avoiding older jewelry will fend off argyria. Choose gold, rhodium coated, surgical steel or titanium jewelry.

The PicoWay picosecond Nd-Yag laser and the 1064nm wavelength will pulverize the large silver molecules into much smaller particles. PicoWay is safer, more efficient and more comfortable that older lasers. If you think it’s time to remove your argyria click or call me at Unthink Inc. for a free consultation.
