Yes. Black ink tattoos can be removed safely on Fitzpatrick skin types 5 and 6. Black pigment responds well to the laser, making it the least complicated to treat.

Colored inks cannot be removed safely on darker skin because of how certain pigments sit in the skin. Treating them can increase the risk of pigmentation changes.
