Here's what to expect when you come in for a laser tattoo removal session with us. We're here to support you every step of the way.

  • Before

    First, you'll need to consult with our expert technicians to discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan. Depending on the size, location, and color of your tattoo, this process may take multiple sessions. 


    Keep in mind that this process can be pricey and time-consuming, so it's important to be sure that you really want your tattoo gone before you commit.

  • During

    During each session, the technician will target the tattoo with pulses of laser light. The light breaks up the ink Pigment particles, which are then absorbed by the body and eventually eliminated. 


    You may experience some discomfort during this process, but we will work with you to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible. We offer free Cryoanesthesia with our Zimmer 6 cold air blower.

  • After

    After each treatment session, you'll need to protect the treated area from sun exposure and allow it to heal. As your body clears the ink pigment particles, you'll see your tattoo gradually fade away. Once it's gone, you'll be able to enjoy clear, beautiful skin.


    Our Registered Nurse will advise and provide post care instructions including using provided Vitamin E ointment. We will also go over strategies to make your time between treatments optimal for your tattoo removal.

  • Am I good candidate?

    If you're considering tattoo removal, you may be wondering if you're a good candidate for the procedure. There are a few factors that will influence whether or not tattoo removal is right for you. 


    First, the location of the tattoo can impact the success of the removal. Tattoos on areas with more fatty tissue, such as the thighs or buttocks, are generally easier to remove than those on bony areas, such as the ankles or wrists. 


    Second, the size of the tattoo can also make a difference. Smaller tattoos are typically easier to remove than larger ones. 


    Finally, your skin type can also affect your candidacy for tattoo removal. People with lighter skin tend to have better results than those with darker skin. 

  • How does the PicoWay Laser work?

    The PicoWay Laser uses short pulses of energy to break up the ink particles in the tattoo. The body then clears these ink particles naturally over time.


    To visualize the difference PicoWay can make, think of your tattoo removal as a rock that you’re trying to destroy. If we were to use a traditional tattoo removal laser that delivers pulses in nanoseconds, the rock would smash into pebbles, that would need to be smashed again and again until it turned to dust. This would take multiple treatments, and cause more pain due to the additional impact needed. With the PicoWay laser and it’s picosecond pulses, the rock turns to such tiny dust particles during each treatment.

    The number of treatments needed varies from person to person and depends on factors such as the size and location of the tattoo, as well as the type of ink used. However, most people require 4-6 treatments for complete removal.

  • What are the side effects?

    The most common side effect of laser tattoo removal is temporary redness and swelling at the treatment site. Other potential side effects include blistering, scabbing, and changes in skin color. These side effects typically resolve within a few weeks after treatment.

  • Can tattoos be removed safely on darker skin?

    Yes. Black ink tattoos can be removed safely on Fitzpatrick skin types 5 and 6. Black pigment responds well to the laser, making it the least complicated to treat.

  • Can colored tattoos be remove from dark skin?

    Colored inks cannot be removed safely on darker skin because of how certain pigments sit in the skin. Treating them can increase the risk of pigmentation changes.

  • What risks should I be aware of?

    The main concern when attempting colored tattoo removal on darker skin is changes in pigmentation, either lightening or darkening of the skin.
