Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) Removal

Jim Trenholm • October 23, 2018

The treatment designed to help those with baldness regain their confidence can do the exact opposite if not done correctly. Remove your unwanted Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) safely and effectively.

Three months ago, my client had scalp micropigmentation to camouflage incision scars from hair transplant harvesting done many years ago. Unfortunately, the ink turned blue immediately following application. The procedure for viable follicle harvesting has changed since that time; however, his scars remain.

The scar tissue was treated successfully with our PicoWay tattoo removal technology as you can see in the before and after picture. The client is a teacher and agreed to be addressed on a Friday, although he should experience minimal discomfort, edema and downtime. He can now apply concealer makeup, by choice, until after just one more touch-up treatment in eight weeks. In 10 to 12 weeks following he can have the micropigmentation reapplied correctly.

Reasons You May Want SMP

  • To create the illusion of a thicker head of hair
  • To cover hair transplant scarring (as my client did)

Reasons You May Want SMP Removal

  • You may want to adjust your hairline.
  • Your style has changed.
  • The results were not what you expected.

Scalp Micropigmentation is just one more type of ink Unthink Inc. can help you fade, alter or remove. Along with traditional tattoos and microblading, all SMP removal treatments at our clinic feature Syneron Candela’s PicoWay laser.

The PicoWay laser is more effective, comfortable and safer on all skin tones than any other leading technology. Unlike Q-Switched lasers which use nanosecond technology and can be painful, the PicoWay uses picosecond technology to ensure your unwanted ink is as quick and painless as possible.
